Product(s): Bentley LumenRT Version(s): 15.50.25.70 Environment: N\A Area: N/A Subarea: N\A Problem I have in my pc LumenRT properly installed. Today I have installed a new software, but I cannot see LumenRT in the menu as expected: What is the right procedure to install LumenRT on the top of my new software? Solution The right procedure to install LumenRT on the top of the other software is: first install the software and then install LumenRT. Alternatively if you still have in your pc the lumenRT Setup file, you can run it as administrator and it will install again the software on the top of your new program See Also https://communities.bentley.com/products/3d_imaging_and_point_cloud_software/w/wiki/29943.how-to-download-and-install-bentley-lumenrt Original Author: Mara Manconi

Forum Post: Microstation Freezing When I Click on Display Shaded Surface.
Working with LiDAR, and my project has been freezing all day when I click on that application. I am using msv8i software, and I have tried re-downloading the software, shutting down the computer, starting and restarting the project... It's still freezing. No edits can really be made if I can't adjust my color cycles. Any ideas?

Hi Sofia You cannot create a PDF file directly form ContextCapture. If you have MicroStation CONNECT Edition you will be able to attach your 3MX file and the print to PDF.

Forum Post: RE: PROBLEMS IN AEROTRIANGULATION
Thanks Felix. But I do not understand what is the problem and the solution. The problem is the data set? Or is the program that makes the AT wrong? When I have only photos without AT, and exported to KML, the photos are positioned correctly in Google Earth. So where the error is in the GPS coordinates? How I can change corrected GPS tags if they are not correct? Is there any way to make a correct AT without using the GPS position of the photos? Only control points? Thank you very much. El 21 de julio de 2016 a las 12:25 Felix James escribió: Message from Bentley Communities Felix James Hi Asier, Thanks for sharing the images. We managed to reproduce the same issue using your dataset. The pose of the cameras after AT is far away from their initial position. We believe the issue comes from the GPS tags of the images. They were, in some way, interchanged or maybe they are just wrong. Because of this the Block-AT is not “correctly” positioned after AT. The AT is computed independently and adjusted on wrong GPS tags, these GPS tags must be corrected before being used. View online If you encounter issues clicking "View online", check here . Forum Post: Context Capture - modeling horseback structure from images
Hello ! My name is Joanna and I am student of biomedical science. I would like to prepare horseback geometry model of my horse. I did different pictures (about 90) by my camera (the images are really good quality, I have Sony alpha camera). I didn't use any magnification. I also set up tie points and I measure the distance between them, but something all time is wrong because I didn't get a horse, ok maybe once, but this horse was in poor quality and looks like shaking horse. + Horse was in the same position all time, when I was taking pictures. I uploaded screenshots from the visualisation. Any ideas what I did wrong and what I should improve ? All best Joanna

Forum Post: ContextCapture Problem
Hello! My name is Roman. I'm an engineer and use ContextCapture. Last week we took a photos of bridge by drone Phantom IV. We took a photos by two session. At the first session we filmed one side of a bridge at the second session we filmed another side of a bridge. Then we have taken together photos and created 3D model of bridge in ContextCapture using all require parameters. The model was wrong (see attach photos). Can you help us solve the problem? Or give some recomendation? Photo 1 with correct side Photo 2 with not correct side

Blog Post: ENR Report: Reality Capture Technology Aids Brownfield Redevelopment Planning
I think you'll enjoy this article in ENR by Tom Sawyer on how Cedarville Engineering leveraged drone usage and ContextCapture to dramatically reduce the cost of surveying a former industrial site in Coatesville, PA. They were able to further the city's efforts to encourage the industrial site's cost-effective re-use and economic development. Reality modeling is helping to make a real difference by reducing the cost of survey data acquisition and visualization to speed informed decision-making.

Hi Aisier You say " When I have only photos without AT, and exported to KML, the photos are positioned correctly in Google Earth ", However, they are not. See the screenshots below: 2 photos (123 and 145) captured above the same area A view of their relative GPS position before AT in Google Earth: You can see here that these GPS tags are not correct. They acquisition pattern may at first look ok in Google Earth but the tags are not correctly linked to photos and we have no idea of how the are wrong (nor how they can be fixed. The problem does not come from ContextCapture but, more likely from the acquisition system. A workaround could consist of using a "fake" GCP derived from Google Earth (you would need to identify at least 3 GCP and their coordinates in Google earth before using them in ContextCapture for rigid geo-registration) however, this workflow is a bit inaccurate.

Thank you Félix. You're right. There is indeed a problem with the GPS tags. We'll try another dataset. Thank you very much for your help. Hi Joanna, It is extremely unlikely that you will be able to get good results without using a RIG. The horse may seem to be still to you but it will have made some movement. Even a human cannot keep perfectly still. Please see the attached document for some useful tips for acquiring photos for ContextCapture:.

Hi, After installing ContextCapture you should see 2 icons created on your computer, one for ContextCapture and one for ContextCapture Master. These application run independently of each other. Once you have submitted the aerotriangulation job you will need to double click on the ContextCapture Engine icon to start it.

Wiki Page: Raster images skewed going from IRasb V7 to Descartes V8i
Product(s): Bentley Descartes for MicroStation Version(s): 08.11.07.433 Environment: N\A Area: General Subarea: N\A Problem When going from I/Rasb V7 (J) to Descartes V8i Intergraph raster images like CIT and INGR TIF images become skewed. Solution The attached are steps that should be done to prevent the issue. You will need to set the environment variables in MicroStation and Descartes. Open a blank dgn file. This is so we can set the Environment Variables. Go Into MicroStation Workspace > Configuration New Variable: MS_RASTER_IGNORE_INGRTAGS_WITH_GEOTIFFTAGS New Value: 1 OK New Variable: MS_INGRFILE_REGISTRATION New Value: 1 OK You may have to OK until you exit Configuration and go back in and do the second Environment Variable. Exit MicroStation Go into Descartes Workspace > Configuration New Variable: MS_RASTER_IGNORE_INGRTAGS_WITH_GEOTIFFTAGS New Value: 1 OK New Variable: MS_INGRFILE_REGISTRATION New Value: 1 OK See Also http://communities.bentley.com/products/3d_imaging_and_point_cloud_software/f/343228/p/58817/140186#140186 http://communities.bentley.com/products/geospatial/desktop/f/5924/p/88118/249126#249126 Original Author: Frank McAllister

Wiki Page: Raster image attached in Descartes not being attached in I/Rasb
Product(s): Bentley I/RAS B Version(s): 08.09.04.59 Environment: N\A Area: General Subarea: N\A Problem When I attached my raster image in Descartes and then open the DGN file in I/Rasb the raster image shows being attached in Raster Manager, but does not show being attached in I/RasB. Solution In Descartes check what plane the raster image is attached. The raster plane must be set to Background Plane in order for the raster image to be attached in I/Rasb when you open your DGN file in I/Rasb. In Raster Manager you can place your cursor over the raster image name and then drag it to the left over the first symbol on the left hand side. It should show the plane the raster image is attached. For example Background, Design or Foreground. You can click on the symbol and a list will be shown. Change the Plane to Background. You can also double click on the raster image name in Raster Manager and it will bring up an Element Information box. In the Display Print section you can change the Plane to Background. In Workspace > Preference > Raster Manager > Default Attributes click Set Default Attributes In the Display Print section you can set Background to be the default raster image attachment setting.
