Hi Koalar,
I have tried to increase the weight of the points, but that's only help to get a result like to connect all the points together, that's can not solve the display issue
Of course not, how elements (vectors, point clouds...) are displayed in terms of their attributes (color, weight...) is different setting and different tools have to be used than to choose what projection (ortographic, perspective...) should be used.
I can feel that Microstation and Pointools are two different parts in Bentley company
Yes, this is because of history. Pointools were independent company and Bentley licensed their Vortex engine to be able to display point clouds in MicroStation-based products. Later Bentley acquired Pointools, but the software is different.
When I need to zoom in to see the details inside the building, it will make me cry...
I don't understand this. How the same zoom level at the same place looks like in Pointools. You are comparing very detailed zoom in MicroStation with overall perspective in Pointools.
This is what I want, and this is also the same in all other point cloud data processing software that I have met before.
In my opinion still several different issues are mixed together and they have to be split and discussed separately: How to set work with perspective projection in MicroStation. How to clip and mask part of model. How to set point cloud visualization parameters (color, point weight etc.). I think this point can be treated as solved for now. Perspective Use Pascal's advice, there is an icon to set perspective display and its parameters. To switch on/off perspective projection (which is equal to a switch between perspective and ortographic) you can also use Camera switch in View Attributes dialog (Ctrl + B). Change View Perspective tool (the first icon) can be used to change view angle dynamically or you can use predefined angle (Extra Wide etc.). Of course it's possible to mix perspective with rotation and zoom. Clip and mask You can also set what part (in geometry meaning) of displayed model will be displayed. You can clip the model (what is outside area is not displayed) and mask model (what is inside defined area is not displayed). Masking is the tool which allows to see inside as you can mask / remove e.g. wall. Clip and Mask icons are available at view toolbar, just follow information displayed in MicroStation status bar. With regards, Jan
