Forum Post: RE: Is there a way to find the number of points in a classification?

Thanks guys. I am classifying gas seeps in point clouds that were obtained from a multibeam echosounder. By running sections through the data I can classify and isolate seeps so that I end up with data that looks something like this example; These seeps rise from the ocean floor as bubbles. As they rise, they sort of lose density but gain volume, and are taken by the ocean current and move in different directions. You can see that different seeps are releasing different volumes. I've tried to experiment with creating mesh elements (doesn't work on this kind of data?) and solid elements (Loft/Skin solid) to quantify and compare seep locations but it doesn't seem as practical as perhaps comparing them simply based on the number of points. I was thinking I could classify these seeps further according to their location and then compare them that way.
