Looking at the ContextCapture vid on Bentley Institute website, I wonder if there shouldn't be a means to use Pointools to upgrade the RealityMesh in places. 1. Create RM using CC to create base mesh of general area. RM has mesh (verticies are points) and importantly photos 'textured' onto the mesh. Awesome. 2. Take point cloud scans which has a higher density of points of key areas. Autoalign RM and PC information. Define volumes (water tower example at end of vid) where the RM is swapped out by a more accurate one generated from the PC. Texture back the RM photo information onto the upgraded section of the RM. I suppose that there will need to be some feathering at the seams between the meshes. 3. Does RM include LOD control like STM? Maybe the higher res mesh segments are only used when the viewer is close enough.
